With everything on the line, the Irish lost a disappointing game in Kalamazoo to Western Michigan 7-2 on February 5th.

For 17 years, Andy Slaggert has been apart of the Irish coaching staff following his playing career at Notre Dame.  Slaggert has been awarded the Flanagan Award by the American Hockey Coaches Association to honor his assistant coaching career.

Senior Kyle Lawson has picked up the CCHA Defenseman of the week honor for a second straight week.  Freshmen Mike Johnson has won the CCHA goaltender of the week honor.

Freshmen Nick Larson has earned CCHA rookie of the week honors.   Senior Kyle Lawson is the CCHA defenseman of the week.  It's the second time this year Lawson has won the defenseman award.

New Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly talked hockey and football with Darin Pritchett during the second intermission of the Notre Dame/Michigan State hockey game on January 15th.

He wears the "C" for the Fighting Irish and he just joined the 100 point club at Notre Dame.  Senior forward Ryan Thang spoke with Darin Pritchett about his 100th career point, the season to date and getting ready for Michigan State this weekend.

Brad Aldrich served as Irish head coach Jeff Jackson's director of hockey operations.  But two years ago he accepted a position with the NHL's Chicago Black Hawks.  Darin Pritchett caught up with Brad at the United Center in December.

Mike Johnson is 4th in the NCAA in goals against average and saves percentage. Darin Pritchett talked to the Irish netminder following Notre Dame's victory at the Shillelagh Tournament and also had him look back on the first half of his Freshmen season.

Junior defenseman Joe Lavin joined the Notre Dame hockey team over the holidays after spending the fall semester playing in the USHL with Omaha. The transfer from Providence College will likely make his debut against Colgate January 2nd. Here is Darin Pritchett's Interview with the new Irish defenseman Joe Lavin.

Notre Dame has added junior defenseman Joe Lavin to their roster. Lavin is a former member of the US National Team Development Program and is a Chicago Black Hawks draft pick.
